The SF Board of Supervisors declared the last week of September Green Building Week, and it includes some events designed to advance sustainable building in the Bay Area. Of course, we are the second greenest city (or one of the top 20 greenest cities -- it all depends on who's doing the ranking) in the country.
While West Coast Green is limited to the trade on Thursday and Friday (9/28-9/29), the event is open to homeowners on Saturday (9/30). It's designed to give the public an opportunity to learn first-hand about how to build and renovate green. More than 250 exhibitors will showcase the latest innovations in resource-efficient materials, along with green and healthy building products. There's more information here.
Then, on Sunday (10/1) there's a Build It Green Home Tour: Santa Clara County. It's a self-guided tour showcasing 11 green homes. The same day there's a Solar & Green Building Fair in Cupertino. Read more about both events here.
We were really trying not to insert the cliche "It's easy being green" reference here, but it's clearly impossible.
