Soooo dangerous: Orla Kiely's shop is a must-stop on my list...

Yay! It's Friday...I've kicked the weekend off with a little Zeppelin (II is so, so good) and planning on doing a bit of shopping for family and friends. But before I head out, I wanted to put together a bit of a game plan so I wasn't manically hopping various tube lines and ending up in, like, Epping. Sure, sites like Daily Candy and Time Out are great for finding weekend events, but I feel like the best guides are the blogs by locals who enjoy the same sort of things: small boutiques with specialty items, quality vintage shops, musty record stores, insanely styled department store, and a good pub or cafe to enjoy a coffee and sandwich. If all that sounds divine to you and you're planning to head off to London at any point, then photographer Tommy's blog, Notes By Naive, is a must-read.

London's swanky department store, Liberty, is located in a beautiful Tudor-style building close to the Oxford Circus tube stop. Featuring high-end labels and some independent designers, it's worth going through if only for the building...and the 4th floor which houses beautiful home items. I couldn't tear myself away from the Josef Frank corner...sigh...

Tommy's blog is a fantastic guide for anyone going to London...or wanting to go to London, for that matter. Her photos are gorgeous, and she includes everything from shopping to small cafés that only locals frequent. And if London's not on your list, she also offers her take on Singapore, Greater England, Madeira, New York, Paris, Portland, and San Francisco.

This is a charming blog that I read regularly, but I do often wonder if she is independently wealthy. She leads a very luxe life in London. I'm too shy to ask her.

i love her photo blog and I wonder as well about what she does in real life to have such a luxe shopping habits (not that she needs to explain but i think I am just a nosy person). i love hermes scarves and that was what got me to her blog in the first place so yeah....those things are very expensive.
